Curacao General Info:

Although tiny in size, Curacao is bustling in vitality and charm.  Curacao offers a unique escape with its ruggedly beautiful landscape and its endless abundance of pleasurable entertainments. The island offers a vast array of activities from hiking, biking, and ATV tours to relaxing on the beautiful beaches or submersing yourself in its colorful underwater world. Located in the tropics, just 12° north of the Equator -- and outside of the hurricane belt -- Curacao has a warm, sunny climate year round. Curacao has an average temperature of 81°F (27°C); trade winds keep the island quite comfortable. It's flat and arid, with an average rainfall of only 22 inches per year.

Curacao villas are located on the long, arid, and generally flat island, stretching some 40 miles (64 km) from southeast to northwest, at much the same north-south angles as it's sister islands in the ABC group (Aruba to the west and Bonaire to the east). The island is about 10 miles (16 km) at its widest point, and the area is about 180 square miles (472 square km), making it the largest island in the Netherlands Antilles group. Many of the Curacao villa rentals on the island are located along the East and some Curacao villas are on the inlets in the extreme south.

The coastline along the south is irregular, peppered with small bays and inlets that are home to Curacao villas, including the spectacular bays and beaches at the west end of the island. The largest bays are located along the central-east and east end of the island, where you'll find the capital and major port of Willemstad, another hotbed of Curacao villa rentals. Most of Curacao’s 130,000 residents live in and around this historic town.
